We’ve had more comments come in about this than anything else and some areincluded from a link on the Sky One page. I’ve only used contributors’ firstnames on that page.

Sky One insult their viewers once too often…
It’s bad enough that Sky have been adding to their onscreen logo with red dotsand “ALL NEW” logos, but the recent treatment of intrusive voice announcementsand permanent logos, like The Simpsons doughnut advertising the nonsense thatsurrounds the 300th episode being shown this coming weekend, have led me toadd a page for Sky One too.
It’s also possible to email the Sky bigwigs directly about their behaviour.I’ve emailed them with:
- “Dear Sky and the executives to which this email is addressed.
I would like you to read the following page on my site which is going live asof tomorrow, Monday 14th April 2003, which is in protest to your disgustingbehaviour towards your viewers with regards to intrusive announcements and allthe onscreen rubbish that you are forcing upon us.
We are able to work out when a programme is “all new”, and the the Simpsons300th episode is on next weekend, even if you need a constant reminder just tohelp yourself. Thankfully, I am blessed with an IQ that goes above singlefigures and do not need such reminders.
I look forward to hearing from you after you have read the following page:(the Sky One page on the link below)
Thanks in advance,

April 13th :BBC3 start to treat ’24’ with respect…?
There’s no ’24’ tonight due to the Golf, soDVDfever.co.uk reviewer Liam Careyis having a well-earned break and the synopsis for episode 8 will be herenext week.
However, given that I couldn’t wait two weeks after a conclusion like that,I watched the next episode on BBC3 and was surprised… to see no “BBC THREE”logo, no onscreen next, no interruptions during or after the programme, no”press red”… no distractions at all. I understand there’s a new set ofmarketing bods at the BBC – either that or Stuart Murphy, controller of BBC3,was off sick.
As a result, since BBC2’s programme ended with squashed credits and a “nextepisode” trailer (which showed us content from the same episode – duh!),this meant that BBC3’s broadcast was treated with more respect. Other BBC3programmes that have since escaped the “BBC THREE” DOG include Burn Itand Two Pints of Lager...
It’s mainly celeb-based tripe like Liquid News which remains to suffer, although the late-night repeats of Monkey Dust still have it, which isa shame as that’s one of the few decent shows they’ve got. Post-midnightprogrammes seem a bit of a crapshoot, though, as to whether they’re DOGged ornot, so let’s hope there’s sense seen when the next series comes round.
24 continues on BBC2, next Sunday at 10pm.
24: Season Twois online now.

Channel 4 has a “NEWGAME” to play…
Since Peter Good was appointed the Chief in Charge of Putting MoreCrap Onscreen at Channel 4, he’s managed to make an instant name for himselfby adding to the usual red dot a new logo (right).
I’ve just emailed him with the following, and you can comment directly to himby clicking on the logo and following the page for Channel 4:
- “Dear Mr Good,
Congratulations on the appointment of your job at Channel 4. It’s pleasing toknow there’s someone out there who has their finger on the pulse of the viewingaudience, doesn’t want to insult their audience and has abolished the permanentonscreen presence…
That’s what I’d be saying if you had even the first idea what to do in yourjob, but it’s quite clear from your “NEWGAME” logo that you have successfullytranscended the boundaries of your predecessors with an even bigger constantonscreen presence that proves that you only get one chance in life to screw thingsup, and you grabbed it with both hands.
I previously thought that no-one could come close to BBC3’s Stuart Murphy withhis penchant for end-credit interruptions, onscreen nexts and even the occasionalvoice announcement DURING a programme, but he has back-tracked on some ofthese annoyances and so compared to you he is a prince among broadcasters.
Please take a look at the link on my site (as described above) which indicates how ridiculous your TVstation is becoming, and, from a direct quote from yourself, how the red dotalone isn’t working and is proof that it should be scrapped.
And if “NEWGAME” doesn’t get the revenue, just how far will you go tobastardise the TV screen even further?
Thanks in advance,
Dom Robinson
Editor, DVDfever.co.uk”
