My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of PARK AVENUE!

Park Avenue Park Avenue can largely be described as “Suddenly, nothing happened…”

However, for want of a plot, Kit (Fiona Shaw) lives in an apartment on park avenue, which is painted in a dreary dark green, but still, she has an in-house maid included in her rent.

Her daughter, Charlotte (Katherine WaterstonAfrAId), visits and thinks she should sell up – plus, it helps that one of the residents is involved in that line of work – Mrs Harris (Didi Conn, aka Frenchy from Grease) – yet, Kit’s quite happy to just mosey along in life, as a book author, and currently doing a tour of her latest work to read segments to anyone who’ll listen.

Along the way, Kit can be argumentative and self-destructive, also having been diagnosed with cancer and is recommended an experimental drug truement, while Charlotte used to date the doorman, Anders (Chaske SpencerThe English), some time ago. He’s still there, and she’s on the verge of divorce from her husband, due to going through marital strife.

Both Kit and Charlotte are cut from the same cloth, though, since they’re always at loggerheads, and both suffered a recent loss with their respective husband/father passing away a year earlier.

Park Avenue has great performances, and occasional decent dialogue – such as Charlotte speculating if he mother dies, “Who’s going to drive me crazy?!” – but it’s ridiculously plot-light, and feels like a TV movie on the big screen, very much like Ms Shaw’s recent Hot Milk!

Still, we have Phylicia Rashad as one of the residents, Mrs. Walsh, and I’d LOVE to hear her dish the dirt on Bill Cosby!

And Katherine Waterston is insanely hot.

NOTE: There are no mid, nor post-credits scenes.

Park Avenue is in cinemas now, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.
