What’s the world coming to when a Farrelly brothers’ comedy about conjoinedtwins doesn’t feature a single gross out gag?

Would you also be surprised to learn that it doesn’t contain even one trulygut-busting laugh? And yet it’s good! It will leave you regularly chuckling andoccasionally laughing out loud but, most importantly, constantly smiling fromits sweet nature and goofy charm.

Bob and Walt Tenor were born joined at the hip, but they’ve both managed tolive full and active lives and are in fact local celebrities in their smallMassachusetts town due to their sporting exploits. They also run a successfuldiner, but Walt has ambitions to move to Hollywood and make it as an actor.Circumstances prevail and he winds up co-starring with Cher in a cheesy TVshow that amazingly becomes a hit.

Meanwhile Bob has met up with the woman he’s been web-pals with for years, but doesn’t have the courage to tell her how attached he is to Walt. Cue allsorts of madcap antics as Bob tries to hide their secret from her while Walttries to hide Bob from the TV audience.

The difference between this and Farrelly pant-wetters like There’s SomethingAbout Mary is that with Stuck On You, they’ve actuallyfashioned a story with a beginning, a middle and an end, as opposed to simplya loosely connected selection of set pieces with no narrative flow.

Not only that, but the acting is excellent, particularly Kinnear, thejokes are clever instead of dumb and the twins are highly likeable. If StuckOn You were twenty minutes shorter and had a few more big laughs, it couldhave been a classic. As it is, it’s a nice start to the year.
