Pierre… Pierre Jeffreys…
He’s an on-call duty solicitor, which often means an early morning wake-up call.. well, it’s the middle of the night, really.
In the opener, played by David Harewood, he shows that an after-hours poke club is where he goes to meet a private GP, with the doc wanting him to get a blood test, that might turn out to be TYpe II diabetes, but there are problems all round, since while gambling is not good for him, he also has fiduciary issues with his lawyer practice.
He wants to carry on with pro-bono work, even though it doesn’t pay the bills. Meanwhile, an old friend has a ton of fraud cases that need dealing with. It may not be what he wants to do, but it’ll pay the bills.
Harewood’s obviously a good actor, but so far, just the opener was available for preview – and it didn’t exactly set me alight as it follows the usual tropes, but I’ll check out more once it airs.
Thanks to our friends at Channel 4 for the screener prior to release.
Pierre begins on Monday night on Channel 4 at 9pm, and runs weekly. Once broadcast, I expect all episodes will be on All 4.
It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
