The show they tried to ban…
We are proud to announce the release of BILL MAHER LIVE! on DVD from 20th July
Opposed by dedicated Republicans and God-fearing Americans who have tried to censor, if not ban his shows, the critically acclaimed US comedian Bill Maher, is now hitting UK stores live on DVD with his wildly entertaining stand-up show BILL MAHER LIVE!
A huge star in America, Maher currently fronts HBO’s multiple Emmy nominated ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,’ attracting a host of A-list stars including George Clooney, Robin Williams, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Costner, Ben Affleck, Michael Moore and many more.
But it is for his trademark political satire Maher is best known. In Bill Maher Live!, a range of hotly debated topics are explored including morality and values, gay marriage, presidential politics, marijuana and the war on sex; all with a disregard for right-wing niceties.
Often shocking and always entertaining, Maher is notoriously known for his politically controversial comments. After the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Centre he criticized the United States government as ‘cowardly’. Subsequently, advertisers pulled their ads and television stations stopped showing his popular programme “Politically Incorrect,” but such was the demand from his fans and TV audience alike, it was not long before Maher returned to centre stage with HBO’s ‘Real Time’ show. Comparable to many UK celebrities exposed in the British press recently for their contentious comments, Maher courts controversy on a whole other level refusing to apologise for his remarks and his staunch beliefs in his right to freedom of speech.
The DVD is released on July 20th, it runs for 99 mins and retails for £12.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £7.48.
