Network will release drama series based on Howard Springs best-selling novel: SHABBY TIGER THE COMPLETE SERIES (12) on DVD on 27th April 2009, RRP £19.99. This is the first time that this gem of a drama series is released on any format, complete and uncut.
Nick Faunt (John Nolan Quincy) is the heir of a millionaire in the 1930s Manchester. Rather than embracing the comfortable and affluent life that his family is able to provide, Nick Faunt leaves home to be an artist and to immerse himself thoroughly into a life of bohemian freedom. Yet along with the freedom comes the poverty and hardship, and it is in such a climate where he encounters Anna Fitzgerald (Prunella Gee Coronation Street), an Irish serving girl in the Cheshire countryside. It is not long before a strange love story begins
Apart from a stellar cast and crew, the 1930s Depression era Manchester is faithfully and convincingly reconstructed, providing an authentic and gritty backdrop for the engaging, unfolding drama.
The DVD is out on April 27th, it runs for 350 minutes and retails for £19.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £14.69.
