This title includes all 9 episodes complete and uncut; this is the first time that this series is available in any format.
This drama opens with a 25 year-old general in the French Army, Napoleon Bonaparte, young, ambitious yet unemployed. With his youthful spirit and gusto, he courts the daughter of a rich merchant, Desiree, alas his lack of income and steady employment result in her familys dismissal of his amorous intentions. Not long after this disappointment, Napoleon leaves for Paris where he is put in charge of the Tuilleries and is soon made Commander of the Army of the Interior. It is also there that he meets and falls passionately in love with Josephine Beauharnais, who then becomes Napoleons ultimately loyal first wife. Yet old flame and new loves vie for attention of the great man in this most addictive of series
