Network Distributing is delighted to announce the 4-disc release of the acclaimed detective drama THE RIVALS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES on DVD on 15th June 2009, RRP £39.99.
Based on the best-selling anthology of Victorian and Edwardian detective fiction collected by Sir Hugh Carleton Greene, The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes showcases the legendary detective’s fictional rivals in London each facing a unique and perplexing case.
This top flight, BAFTA-winning series attracted an incredible array of talent, including John Neville, Robert Stephens, Peter Vaughan, Roy Dotrice, Donald Pleasence, Ronald Hines, Peter Barkworth and Donald Sinden.
This set contains the first 13 episodes that made up the complete first series, which was broadcast on ITV in 1971.
The DVD is out on June 15th, it runs for 650 minutes and retails for £39.99 on DVD,but is currently on Amazon at the link above for £29.98.
