Say “Guten Tag, Pet” to Oz, Dennis, Barry and the boys as the original castreturn in a brand new prime time BBC series in 2002 and revisit the first andsecond series of the side-splittingly hilarious comedy classic now releasedfor the first time ever on DVD by Carlton Visual Entertainment.

Carlton Visual Entertainment is releasing Series 1 of Auf Wiedersehen Pet onDVD and on VHS on 27th May followed by Series 2 on DVD and VHS on 8th July.For the true collector Carlton is also releasing Series 1 and Series 2 in 4 discMini Tool Box Sets followed by the ultimate collector’s item on 7th October ofSeries 1 and 2 Tool Box Sets on both DVD and VHS.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet was created in 1983 by Clement and La Frenais, the writingteam behind Porridge and The Likely Lads. Based on the lives of a group ofGeordie builders who set off for Germany in a desperate attempt to find work andthe good life, Auf Wiedersehen Pet chronicles their lives and antics. A secondseries followed the boys to Spain. Auf Wiedersehen Pet also took the pop chartsby storm with Joe Fagin’s smash hit theme song That’s Livin’ Alright.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet also introduced the nation to some of its best-loved and biggeststars. Timothy Spall is now an award-winner and Hollywood regular in filmssuch as Vanilla Sky. Jimmy Nail went on to star in Evita, Spender, CrocodileShoes and also had a succession of hit singles. Inspector Morse and Peak Practice’sKevin Whately is one of TV’s best-known faces as is Tim Healy, popular star ofTom Jones, Common As Muck and The Grand.
