Based on a true story which rocked the very fabric of Modern Italy… In 1979a British au-pair girl was working for an Italian family on the island of Elbaand accused of firestarting and witchcraft after a few fatal incidents and aburnt-down house – the family told the judge she has caused the fires by”supernatural powers”.

Synopsis:

Based on a true story, this is a dark and supernatural tale of a young Englishnanny accused of witchcraft and murder.

When young nanny Julie (Sienna Guillory) takes up her new position with a wealthyItalian couple, things are not what she expected as she is sexually harassed bythe husband.

Suddenly the baby in her charge is found dead from a mysterious fire – thus beginsa nightmare as she is branded a Witch by the Press on her arrest.

But the supernatural occurrences do not stop there and a series of further unexplainedfires begin. Has she been possessed? Has she some rare uncontrollable telepathicabilities?

With help from her lawyer Gabreli (Mark Strong – Fever Pitch) and former psychiatristMother Frances (Charlotte Rampling – Angel Heart) they have to try to proveher innocence.

In the final unveiling of the shattering events from Julie’s past, the terribletruth is revealed.
