The RoboCop remake trailer is here.
It’s 2028 and we’re back in Detroit where, this time, it’s Joel Kinnaman in the leading role. Who? Apparently I would know who he is if I’d watched the US version of The Killing. But I didn’t. And I haven’t got round to watching the original, either.
Anyway, he’s Alex Murphy, a loving husband, father and good cop, critically injured in the line of duty, and OmniCorp turn him into their part-man, part-robot police officer.
Will he take out the trash effectively? Time will tell when he’s joined by Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, Aimee Garcia (Jamie from Dexter!), Jennifer Ehle, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and the original RoboCop’s Miguel Ferrer as a different character, Vallon.
When I was at Keele Uni, there was a hot girl there called Alex Murphy. I didn’t know her personally, but I dubbed her RoboFox. Ah, where is she now…
Anyway… RoboCop is released in the UK on February 7th, 2014. Watch the trailer below. I’m not convinced by it so far, though:
