My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of SWEETPEA on Sky Atlantic!

Sweetpea Sweetpea centres around Rhiannon Lewis (Ella PurnellFallout), who tells us in the opening narration how she wants to kill manspreaders, Donna in the mini-market who is never ‘happy to help’, Norman at work who ignores her… everyone at work, really.

Plus, men who ignore her after sex, her sister who never replies to texts, her Mum who left, and at school, Julia Blenkinsop – the evil bitch amongst the ‘mean girls’. Oh yes, there’s a few kids I knew at school who really deserved a cold slap, but perhaps our Rhannion’s thinking a little too far?

Given her employment situation, you can rather guess the outcome when she tries to ask for a promotion to junior reporter at work, but the title comes form her boss, who refers to her as the titular ‘Sweetpea’.

That’s the basic premise, and I’ll avoid detailed spoilers, obviously, but the way things were going, I was left wondering: Will anyone survive the opener?

That said, it was very slow, with the second episode running along in a similar vein, and all I’ll say is that there will be some murders, but Dexter, this is not.

There are six episodes to this, but unless there’s some major great response to this upon release, I think I’ve seen enough.

Sweetpea is on Sky Atlantic from Thursday October 10th, with all episodes available on day one.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.

However, you can buy the paperback novel
