Tanyalee Davis (above) again encountered more horrendous idiots on a train, but this time, it wasn’t the staff, but godawful chavs, all in need of a cold slap.
She says: “An unruly teenager read a PRIVATE text when standing over me in which I was telling my partner – ‘Thank F*ck this obnoxious family is leaving, because they left a huge mess.’
This girl ended yelling over her brothers and sisters who were cued up to get off at Nottingham , saying I called them abnormal. She then started calling me names, to which I turned on the video because I could see this escalating. She then proceeded to drop trash on the floor at kick it at my scooter. She continued making fun of my hands and legs while her little brothers gave me the finger. Their mother, who had been in a different carriage the whole time, pounced in calling me a paedophile and started recording me saying she was going to call the police. She made rude gestures to me as a family member grabbed her. The family then stood on the platform making rude gestures. I contacted the new guard, Chris, who came onboard at Nottingham and explained what happened. He was lovely and took my statement, name and number and suggested i contact British Transport Police which I did. They are pulling CCTV and will be collecting this video.
I spearhead an anti-bullying/Kindness campaign called GR8 AS U R where I work with primary school children to respect themselves and others. Stop bullying before it starts! Clearly this comes down to lack of decent parenting.
The morning this happened, I was on BBC 5 Live Radio talking about abuse that little people endure in public. Behold an example!”
This has made a number of newspapers including The Sun, and Tanyalee appeared today on ITV Granada News, who also featured the problems Sara Jane Harvey has endured in trying to get on trains with a mobility scooter, as well as dealing with autism. Hopefully, that interview will go online soon and I’ll link it here, but in that one, it shows that different train companies have different policies and no two companies are the same, so if your journey is split across two different companies, this can lead to all manner of problems because there’s no joined-up thinking between then.
Here’s hoping that if Labour get in next time, that renationalisation of the rail network happens, because the Tory privatisation has been a disaster.
You can see the video below of this incident, in which the childrens’ faces are blurred out, but not the mother. Below that is a Facebook vlog from Tanyalee with a further update following her interview:

Tanyalee Davis talks on This Morning about Blue Parking badges
Tanyalee Davis (above) shared her recent experiences following the despicable behaviour by both Great Western Railways and LNER, the latter doing the same again a few days later!
Yesterday, she appeared again on This Morning, this time to talk about the government’s new plans to clarify the rules on who should and shouldn’t park in disabled bays in public car parks.
While people with ‘hidden disabilities’ are included already – such as if you have a child with autism, this needs to be spelled out for a lot of ignorant people on the planet who don’t understand that the spaces are solely for people with an obvious physical need.
Tanyalee spoke to Eamonn and Ruth, alongside Kimberly Seeger who has a daughter with autism, and faces similar pressures every day.
Personally, what I would like is heavy fines for those who park in disabled bays who do NOT have any disability. If it’s a private car park, the council have no jurisdiction. My Dad had a badge which meant we could park in the bay when we went for lunch at the weekend… but they were all taken. So I dropped him off at the door and went round to find a space.
Later leaving the car park for a short time, and then coming back, was some flash Harry who didn’t have any sort of hidden disability.
Taking this situation up with the council later, their answer was that I either could’ve spoken to the staff to get them to challenge the driver (but the staff won’t give a shit as they don’t want the hassle), or for me to do that face-to-face, which I’m really sure would’ve made for a nice calming atmosphere while he’s being all lairy with his mates (you know the type – those that go to a pub in packs of 10 and shout a lot).
Next time, I think I’ll just take some bananas out with me, and when I see such a driver, I’ll stick one of them in their exhaust!

Tanyalee Davis: After Great Western Railways, now London and North Eastern Railway screw up!
Tanyalee Davis (above), a fantastic comedian from Canada, said she was left humilated and shamed by Great Western Railways on Sunday after the following horrendous encounter on one of their trains, and another screw-up has happened, but this time it’s not GWR, but LNER, aka the London and North Eastern Railway!
Yesterday, Tanyalee was due on stage, but was delayed for the following reason at York station:
She says: “Okay, so the train pulls up at York station. The guard on the train was told before arrival that platform staff were aware I needed a ramp, in order to get off the train.
I waited at the door, then five minutes later, the doors beep which means they were closing. The point of no return! Some passengers pulled the disabled alarm to alert the guard. He came over and his mouth dropped! He said he asked the staff if they got her off the train, and they said they did. Nope!
He was mortified. I had to go 30 mins to Darlington, get off, and then on another train BACK to York. Of course, they were so over the top apologetic and gave me two bottles of wine!
I made it to my gig. I already have a bit in my act about trains, so when I started it, people booed. Not at ME… but it’s because they heard and saw my #ScooterGate campaign, and I had to address the elephant on a scooter in the room!”

Tanyalee Davis: Humilated and shamed by Great Western Railways
Tanyalee Davis (above), a fantastic comedian from Canada, said she was left humilated and shamed by Great Western Railways on Sunday after the following horrendous encounter on one of their trains, thanks to a Jobsworth guard who’d clearly left his brain at home and who would rather abuse all disability laws than find a proper solution for everyone.
Since both footage of the incident, as well as Tanyalee’s vlog, went live on Sunday, both have gone viral and the story has made all number of local and national newspapers and online news outlets including the BBC and Metro, the latter of which is read on an awful lot of trains, and some of them are run by GWR…
Today, she has also appeared on Channel 5 News, ITV Anglia News and ITV’s This Morning.
Tanyalee Davis said on Sunday: “MAJOR issue on the train from Plymouth. There was no wheelchair space in standard, and the one in First Class was free. They made a big deal about the scooter, saying if a wheelchair comes on, then they have priority as the scooter is NOT a wheelchair.
It started before we even got on the train. They almost didn’t allow me ON the train because they said I didn’t have a wheelchair. That’s why they said if a wheelchair DOES come on then I’d have to get off. I took a chance that didn’t happen and it didn’t.
They put the ramp down and I zipped up and the guy was like “Woah! You aren’t suppose to drive those up the ramp!”
I said: “Well, how else do I get on them?”
Kevin was arguing with them and I just zipped into the wheelchair spot before they changed their minds and while we got settled soon after, it was then an hour later when this happened:
A lady wants to come on with her newborn baby in a pram. I am then told I have to park my scooter in the vestibule. The guard tries to pull it. I’m asking: “Are you seriously asking me to move over a baby pram?”
The guard asks to see my ‘paperwork’ saying my scooter is allowed on the train. Shit starts to go sideways as my partner Kevin argues its against the law. The guard says he is calling the police and the train will stop in Taunton, and we are getting kicked off. He even makes an announcement telling the passengers that *I’M* causing problems!
It’s fucking RIDICULOUS that I have to endure this shit. I’ll post videos that we took which pissed the guard off more.
Anyway… my scooter is parked in the vestibule and will have to be moved each stop. Since scooters are NOT considered wheelchairs, it isn’t against the law. However, I SHOULD have priority over a baby pram! She could’ve put the baby in its carrier, and put baby on the seat and left the pram in the vestibule. This shit is doing my head in”
And for her third video in this, Tanyalee said: “Here I am in tears. You can hear the guard tell everyone that it was me refusing to move, and it’s that which will cause the delay, as well as us videoing him.” Things were only slightly resolved because once they arrived at Taunton, and the train was held awaiting police, Tanyalee agreed to leave her scooter in the vestibule and sit down, but she still had to get up and move it a few times when the train arrived at subsequent stations so people could get by.
This is an utter disgrace beyond words, and it also led to Tanyalee missing the train connection to continue her journey. It also follows on from the horrendous situation she suffered from East Midland Trains the weekend before.
Below, you can see the video from the journey itself, then Tanyalee’s vlog about this, where she explains that she couldn’t reserved a disabled space on the train because when she booked the ticket, the website wasn’t working properly, and how for such service in the UK, “They really know how to make you feel disabled”.
Given how viral this has gone, she has done a ton of interviews including appearances on This Morning and Channel 5 News, both of which are below. As she states in the latter, while the guard needs to be reprimanded, he has been receiving death threats which really should NOT be happening and should stop.
Also check out the GR8 As U R anti-bullying campaign.
