The Catcher Was a Spy looks like a John Le Carre thriller from the outset and in the trailer, until you see the premise which states that Paul Rudd plays Moe Berg, a major league baseball player who lives a double life working for the Office of Strategic Services.
Yes, Paul Rudd as in him from the forthcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Rudd has zero charm in anything he does. Thank Frank he wasn’t in Avengers: Infinity War.
The Catcher Was a Spy hasn’t yet got a UK or US release date, but I’m not rushing to see it, although it has a decent cast outside of its lead.
