My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of THE DEATH OF BUNNY MUNRO on SKY ATLANTIC!

The Death Of Bunny Monro The Death Of Bunny Monro is a weird one, but then it comes from the mind of Nick Cave, who never writes anything straight-forward, although I’ve only come across his music before now.

Matt Smith (Caught Stealing) takes the lead role as a man who’s quite a playboy and oozing with charm, even though as we meet him he’s just a door-to-door salesman hawking cosmetics, staying in a B&B and smoking like a chimney.

But life quickly comes crashing down when he sees his ex-wife, Libby (Sarah GreeneSexy Beast), has committed suicide in her flat while her son, Bunny Junior’s (Rafael Mathe) also there, in his room; and like the irresponsible chap he is, as social services come round, he’d rather abscond with the boy.

in fact, as he’s selling around town, we see just what a particuarly nice chap he is… and isn’t just a wayward Dad, but also goes attracting enemies everywhere he goes.

However, it’s good news for us, since there’s great music, including The Cure’s A Forest, great direction, such as when the camera often zooms in a main character as they pause to stare in our path, and it’s great proof that Matt Smith has the most expressive face of any actor of his generation, giving us a late entry for one of the most engaging dramas of 2025.

It’s also set in 2003, so two years before the indoor smoking ban took effect, as well as being the age of Motorola flip phones. Ah, those were…n’t quite the days 🙂

The Death Of Bunny Monro begins tomorrow on Sky Atlantic.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
