The Well is the third episode of Season 2… or, perhaps Series 15 or Series 45.
Being deaf is this month’s token disability highlight at the BBC, and their doyen is Rose Ayling-Ellis. She was in the recent Reunion, she’s now in this, and she’ll soon be in ITV’s Code of Silence. She’s become the new James Corden. You can’t move without bumping into her.
For The Well, another week, another problem, and it only ever seems to happen once you encounter The Doctor. Perhaps he should just bugger off? Oh wait, in a few weeks, he will!
This time round, they’ve jumped 500,000 years into the future, but no-one’s yet driving DeLoreans.
But first a time for dress-up, this time into fetish outfits, to blend in as soldiers on a spaceship, no-one questions why they’ve just appeared, and there just happens to be enough helmets for them.
They find a dead body on some distant planet, then more, then there’s only one person alive, and yes, yet again, it’s Rose bloody Ayling-Ellis. Even in 500,000 years time, you can’t escape her!
Stupid thing is, she admits to killing one of her colleagues, but with the justifier, “She was going to kill me?” Er… doubt.

There’s a ton of walking about doing nothing. Yes, even with Disney money, there’s barely any plot. This isn’t a four-parter where they have time to chat aplenty, just get one with the plot! Give us a monster! Start running around! DO… SOMETHING!!!
And some more, but behind a spoiler header.
The Well is mostly just a one-room episode, like last year’s Boom, and we were in the same position, then. At least next week, again, because RTD’s out of ideas, Ruby Sunday’s back. Millie Gibson should’ve regenerated into The Doctor. At least this would be watchable again.
To date, The Robot Revolution, had a terrible overnight ratings of just 2.0m, then despite all the simps claiming the ratings were bad because “nice weather”, before crying into their pronouns.
But… the overall ratings after 7-days, including all devices and iPlayer, were just 3.57m. As for Lux‘s overnights, just 1.58m. It’s only going one way…
This time, I’m guessing overnights of 1.2m.
The Well on the BBC iPlayer, and on BBC1 at 7.20m tonight.
Season 2 is available to pre-order on Blu-ray and DVD.
You can also buy Season 1 on Limited Blu-ray Steelbook, Blu-ray and DVD.
