Total Biscuit, aka John Bain and the Cynical Brit, is a videogames reviewer, whose vlogs and videos I haven’t watched as often as I should, but I’ll never forget his slamming of Batman Arkham Knight, below, in 2015, when it was released in a completely broken state on the PC in June 2015. It absolutely nailed every last problem it had.
In fact, it’s only relatively recently that I’ve been checking out a lot of vloggers on Youtube, some of my favourites including RGT85, Rerez, Metal Jesus Rocks, and DreamcastGuy, on whose video review of the Sega Genesis Classics, also below, I first learned of his sad passing, as he paid tribute to the man at the end of the video.
With 2.2 million YouTube subscribers, he retired from reviewing videogames in April following the news that his bowel cancer had spread to his liver, and he announced on Reddit that he did not “have long left”, since his cancer was terminal.
His wife, Genna Bain, posted a tribute poem to him on his Twitter account, and the above picture was also taken by her.
33 is no age to go, whatsoever.
RIP Total Biscuit, and wherever you are now, I hope it’s somewhere where you get to play all the games ahead of the rest of us.
Rest in Peace my Dearest Love
