UK Top 100 Music chart summary w/e August 13th 2011

UK Top 100 Music chart summary w/e August 13th 2011This week, Cher Lloyd went in at No.1 with the execrable Swagger Jagger. This getting to No.1 is what happens when 5-year-olds are allowed to buy music.

You can see the video here.

As a result, JLS dropped to No.2 with She Makes Me Wanna. Sounding very much like Chris Brown’s “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah” in places, this pop song isn’t entirely without merit but it’s also far from original.

Still, their teenage girl market will love the fact that the guys bare their chests. Funny how we never get female pop stars going topless…

Meanwhile, there are new entries in the Top 40 for:

  • 37 Swede Mason feat. Gregg Wallace and John Torode Masterchef – Synesthesia (Buttery Biscuit Bass)
  • …and that’s it.
Lower entries outside the Top 40 include:
  • 83 The Game feat. Chris Brown – Pot Of Gold
  • …and no more.
In the album charts, Amy Winehouse retained the top slot with Back to Black, keeping
Adele at No.2 with 21 and also being at No.3 with Frank. The remaining new entries come from:
  • 14 Pitbull Planet – Pit
  • 34 Viva Brother – Famous First Words
  • 39 Rhydian Roberts – Waves
  • 59 Joshua Radin – The Rock & The Tide
The new release dates for singles and albums can be found HERE and they go up to early October.
