Dua Lipa climbs from No.5 to No.1, in the UK Top 100 Music chart summary w/e August 24th 2017, with New Rules, and it’s autotuned dross, even if the video does look like it was shot in reverse.
As such, Calvin Harris drops to No.2 with Feels, and the presence of Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean show that you can have lots of big names in a song but the end result is fairly mediocre.
Released this week is the return of Aly and AJ with Take Me, and I first remember them the first time I heard them, in 2007, with Potential Breakup Song, which was fantastic. It’d be difficult to match that, but this is well worth a listen:
