Taylor Swift goes straight in at No.1 in the UK Top 100 Music chart summary w/e September 7th 2017, with Look What You Made Me Do. It’s as bland as anything else she’s put out, but her fans will be pleased as after over ten years of releasing music, this is her first UK No.1. There’s something in the video with a phone call about how “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now because… she’s dead”, so she’s trying to revamp herself. Madonna, she ain’t. I’ll add it below with this week’s new release.
As such, Dua Lipa drops to No.2 with New Rules, and it’s autotuned dross, even if the video does look like it was shot in reverse.
Released this week is the second single from The Saturdays member Mollie King, with Hair Down. What? You mean you don’t remember her first single? It was called Back To You and came out almost exactly a year ago to not-so-rapturous applause when it made all of No.90 in the charts….
As for this new one, for me, it’s nothing to get excited about at all, as it’s very dross and forgettable pop, but she’s got a solo career to promote with a forthcoming appearance on the godawful Strictly Come Dancing:
