Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is a fighter game with a difference – the protagonists are big-boobed females with skimpy skirts and a passion for feeling fruity.
Okay, so this may be an experience others have had before – and it’s a while since I’ve got stuck into a fighting game, but I’m normally bashing robot’s heads together, with the only females kicking and punching being those who are properly dressed for it.
The two leads are sisters, Rinka and Ranka. On Bhikkhuni Island, they’re infected with the V Virus, a variation of the A Virus, giving them the powers of both an Extar and a Liberator – whatever that means. Oh, apparently, it allows them to simultaneously wield the other’s weapon form. Hmm… it sounds like they’ve got big enough weapons, already.
The girls in the game are more obsessed with touching each others massive breasts and getting hot ‘n’ heavy than most blokes would expect in such a game.
On the plus side, it has fast action with lots of crash/bang/wallop all over the place, including directional audio with split-surround effects. However, the gameplay is complex, at times, as you try and get used to the slew of new moves it throws at you – in overly-cumbersome combos, but that’s not the biggest problem.
Inbetween the fighting, there’s chatty cut-scenes with a length to rival Michael Bay’s Transformers movies – they just never seem to end. If the girls in these scenes had a huge amount to say, I could understand, but they could easily be truncated.

It’s amusing to see the girls enthusing about how well-endowed they are. When I was 14, I had a History teacher called Mr Jackets who kept telling us – and he probably shouldn’t have done – how he wanted to be smothered to death by lots of naked women. Well, this game could certainly work for him if he fell into those cut-scenes!
Overall, Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is fun for a short while, but after that, the risque novelty wears off and I found myself tiring of it.
If you’re a teenage boy, you’ll not be spent for a long time. If you’re an adult with your own house and no-one about to burst into your room when you might be busy, there’s always Pornhub.
Amusingly, the two sisters – who you start off with in the fighting stakes, before moving onto other characters – each have a ‘rack rank’ of A. Pass the 3D glasses…
