Vladimir – The DVDfever Review – Netflix – Rachel Weisz

Vladimir Vladimir, as a title, made me think this was a vampire flick, but no.

The plot is delivered with Rachel Weisz (Constantine) talking directly to us, her character not explicitly named – only as M, or ‘the protagonist’.

Husband John (John SlatteryChurchill) is also a lecturer at her school, and is suspended for playing away with one of his students, thus making it difficult for her at work. At the same time, after meeting the titular young, new lecturer, played by Leo Woodall, she’s mad about the boy…

Yes, it’s him from last year’s Bridget Jones movie, although both he and Slattery starred in last year’s Nuremberg.

Vladimir is a strange series. It’s reasonably entertaining while it’s on, but if I stop to do something else, and if I wasn’t reviewing it, I wouldn’t even remember to go back to it, if I haven’t left it on pause while nipping out the room. Plus, the more this goes on, the more it just feels like she’s Bridget Jones, but in a different environment.

Thanks to our friends at Netflix for the screener prior to release.

Vladimir is on Netflix from today.

It’s not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but when it is, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
