A highlight of the WWF calendar, Summerslam 2000brings you all the action from the ring at last year’s event includingthe Triple Threat Match between Kurt Angle and Triple H taking on defendingWWF champion The Rock, the Hardcore Championship, the TLC Tag Team title matchand, for the first time ever, a Thong Stink Face March between The Kat andTerri! There’s also the sexual tension between all the contestants andTriple H’s missus, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.

I’ve done several WWF DVD reviews online to date already so you know the drillby now – and if you don’t, there’s a summary of those online at the bottomof this review – so I’ll move on swiftly to a breakdown of the DVD’s contents.

  • Right To Censor vs. Too Cool & Rikishi
  • X-Pac vs. Road Dogg
  • Intergender Tag Team Match for the Intercontinental Championship
  • Tazz vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler
  • Hardcore Championship Match
    • Shane McMahon vs. Steve Blackman
  • Best Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match
  • TLC Match for the Tag Team Championship
    • Edge and Christian vs.
    • the Dudley Boyz vs.
    • the Hardy Boyz
  • First-Ever Thong “Stink Face” Match
    • The Kat vs. Terri
  • Undertaker vs. Kane
  • Triple Threat Match for the Championship
    • The Rock vs. Triple H and Kurt Angle

Presented in a 4:3 ratio, the picture looks better than the Mick FoleyDVD because they’ve left it in the original NTSC format instead of convertingto PAL and losing quality. The the average bitrate is 5.33Mb/s, often peaking over 7Mb/s.

The sound, in Dolby Digital 2.0 (Dolby Surround), offers only Englishcommentary, but is loud enough to wake up the neighbours when necessary.

The extras consist of Eight Exclusive Interviews which are more likebrief soundbites (all under a minute each) from the stars such as The Kat,Undertaker, Edge and Christian. One of “The Beach” adverts is included aswell as A Special Look at “The Beach” TV Ads – a 3-minute featurette.

In the Flash Backs and Xtras sections come several mini-featurettes lookingat the feuds and events leading up to Summerslam 2000 all of which are partof the overall running time and essential viewing for the discerning WWF fan.

The disc contains 29 chapters in total – 11 for the near-3hr main programme, plus one each for the featurettes and interviews. There are no subtitles butall of the menus feature animation and music in the form of clips from the show.
