Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice follows on from 2013’s Man of Steel and following July’s first full trailer and following April’s teaser trailer, and the sneak peek earlier this week… And now we have the second official trailer… no doubt before we get three more, and the TV spots, and so on.
At first, I felt it was far too soon for a new Batman movie after Christopher Nolan’s trilogy completed with The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, and I still have no idea why he’s fighting Superman, but… watching this trailer, I’m a lot more sold on the ‘Batman v Superman‘ idea than I was before. Don’t get me wrong – Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are still very average actors, but Gal Gadot is stunning as Wonder Woman – giving the two leads a neat exchange: “She with you??”, “I thought she was with you?!” – and Jesse Eisenberg is perfectly evil as Lex Luthor.
Actually… yes, it’s STILL definitely too soon for a new Batman film. Oh, and they even mask a ‘shit’ in this trailer.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Ray Fisher.
Batman Vs Superman was originally due for release in the UK on April 29th 2016, but was then brought forward a few weeks to March 25th 2016.
Back in May last year, the new Batmobile was revealed. And the car may look cool… but it’s still got Ben Affleck in the film. Boooooooo!
