Beirut brings us Jon Hamm (Baby Driver) as a US diplomat, who flees Lebanon in 1972 following the tragic murder of his wife. Ten years later, he’s called back to war-torn Beirut by CIA operatives (Rosamund Pike) to negotiate for the life of a friend he left behind…
with a script from Tony Gilroy, who brought us many of the Jason Bourne movies, and from director Brad Anderson, whose Transsiberian comes highly recommended, Beirut is released in the US on April 13th in the US, but doesn’t yet have a UK date. Hamm’s always worth a look, so I’ll definitely check this out.
