Dating Naked picks up where Channel 4’s Naked Attraction left off – watching random members of the public get their dangly bits out for all to see.
Well, C4’s show was rumoured to have been cancelled, but apparently, that’s not the case, so with this new programme from Paramount+ on our screens, we can have double the double entedres!
And there was me thinking they were only going to give me one!
In Dating Naked, the location is rather more sumptuous, as they’re abroad in an undisclosed lush, seaside location.
Naked Attraction certainly has a fair bit of padding, but Rylan Clark‘s show initially does the same by introducing us to each of the contestants, whereas Channel 4 would keep them covered up. They’re also shown, walking around a ‘Big Brother‘-style house in the buff. Not a good thing for men, usually, as it won’t stay like they’d want it to look.
Except mine, of course. Paramount did ask if I wanted to take part, but I said I’d only do so if it was shot in 3D! 😉
That said, there is a woman called Dominik, and it’s not me in my Sunday best.
For of the other contestants, there’s Tiegan (pronounced ‘Tegan’, a la the Doctor Who companion), Emily – who hails from my hometown of Stockport, Chrislove – yes, you read that right, it is her name, Lauren, and Romeo has far too many tattoos, so how can you tell he’s actually naked, when most of his body is still covered up?
And do any of them know each other already?
Oh, and there are some other blokes, but I don’t care about any male members.
Before long, the game begins, as Rylan arrives, and the men and women have to say who they fancy, leading to an awkward situation where, if some women aren’t chosen, they’ll feel put down. But if there’s any mutual attraction from the start, then the chosen ones will go for a date, and utimately, whoever makes the best connection could win £50,000.
Towards the end of the opener, we reach ‘the dumping ground’ where one housemate will be evicted… so, yes, it’s Big Brother but naked. This is not a show where there’s a complete new set of people for each episode, so that differentiates it from Naked Attraction.
The first two episodes were available for preview, and while I’ll give no spoilers in this preview as to how things turn out, it’s safe to say that episode 2 picks up where the first left off, so it does get straight into the content.
And I’m gripped already! 😀
Dating Naked is not available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD, but is on Paramount+ from Friday August 23rd. Two episodes will be available on day one, with Rylan helping extend this weekly…f’nar, f’nar!
