My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of DOWN CEMETERY ROAD ON APPLE TV+!

Down Cemetery Road Down Cemetery Road brings us Ruth Wilson (See How They Run), as Sarah Tucker, is having a dinner party, when a huge explosion happens in the middle of it.

Did someone put too much chili in the meal? Nope, it’s a gas main.

Still, while doing a favour for a friend, on her way to work, Sarah wants to give a Get Well Soon card to a young 5-year-old girl Dinah Singleton, who’s now in hospital and orphaned due to the blast, but everyone in authority is being cagey about whether or not she’s been dealt with at their local hospital, making me wonder if she’s stumbled onto some kind of conspiracy. Well, it is a drama series after all!

Since private eye Zoë Boehm’s (Emma Thompson – looking better than usual with the spiky hair she has here), other half, Joe (Adam GodleyThe BFG), has a penchant for looking for missing people, he’s tasked and on the case.

In fact, the way Ruth was running fast to catch up with Dinah, at one point, it made me wonder, is she in Witness Protection or something?!

Along the way, there’s creepy people being creepy, and all the authorities ending up like complete dicks, so for the powers that be, Hamza (Adeel AkhtarFool Me Once) has to suffer working for C (Darren BoydThe Salisbury Poisonings), with Boyd taking delight in chewing the scenery, behaving like a complete arsehole to him.

Down Cemetery Road does get quite daft at times, although there are some things I didn’t expect. Then again, I should’ve expected that while at one point, Sarah has some work done on her bedroom’s back window… I’m not surprised that the two builders doing this ARE WEARING THEIR OUTDOOR SHOES IN HER BEDROOM!!!

So, this is passable, but while there are better shows, it does count amongst Sarah’s friends, both Sinead Matthews (Murder is Easy: Agatha Christie) and Tom Goodman-Hill (Rebecca) from Ideal, as Jenny and the cop, respectively.

Down Cemetery Road is on Apple TV+ from tomorrow, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. If it is in future, it will be listed on the New DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and 4K releases UK page.
