My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of FALLING on CHANNEL 4!

FallingFalling Falling

Falling brings us into the religious world, where nun Anna (Keeley HawesThe Assassin) and priest David (Paapa EssieduBabies) meet because he’s going to take a group of young girls to her nunnery, so they can get an idea of whether or not they like it.

This includes teenager, Tina, who’s thinking of living a nun’s life, while her mum reckons she doesn’t know which way’s up. Well, when I was a kid, I wanted to be Buck Rogers!

The rules in Anna’s place are certainly harsh, so you have to give your lives to the mythical deity, and not have a mobile phone in order to check out Snapchat.

However, for this pair, they have a bit of a disagreement at the start, but an accidental moment leads to a close moment. But for the day job, he has to put up with the daily grind of listening to his flock’s ridiculous confessions, while at this time of the day, she’s out and about… and delivering goods to OAPs.

Are they… falling for each other? And what happens when the news gets out?

Still, it’s quite a slow burn, but good and well-acted, and if God’s meant to be omipotent, then so is Jason Watkins (Dirty Business), who plays devout Priest Peter 😉

It also comes from writer Jack Thorne, with some of the best work of his I’ve seen in recent years being The Hack, Kiri and The Virtues.

Falling begins tomorrow night at 9pm on Channel 4, after which, the episodes will be on with new episodes All4.

It’s available to pre-order on Blu-ray and DVD, ahead of its release date on June 22nd.
