Horizon Zero Dawn is a great-looking new third-person action RPG from Guerrillla Games, creators of the Killzone series, in a world which has been taken over by flora and fauna. New tribes have arrived and the whole thing ended up looking very Tomb Raider-esque, but hopefully a lot less QTEs! (quick-time events)
In this world, mankind is no longer the dominant species, with machines now at the top of the food chain. You are Aloy, a young outcast from a tribal society, who has learned to hunt the machines, and in this trailer it looks like she’s taking own some sort of mechanical Godzilla that’s walking like an AT-AT out of The Empire Strikes Back! Aloy will embark on a quest that will lead her to discover her own destiny.
Instead of taking down the enemy unarmed, she can combine natural materials with machine parts to turn them into ingenious weapons, ammunition, traps, and tools. Use the right items at the right moment, and exploit weak points to bring down even the largest machines. Unfortunately, the most dangerous machines aren’t necessarily the biggest…
Horizon Zero Dawn is due out in 2016 and check out the trailer below:
