Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – Final Trailer – Chris Pratt

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has a Final trailer. Final? Really? PROMISE?! Pinky promise?! I doubt it, somehow. Time will tell.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has been brought forward a day in the UK from June 7th to June 6th. That’s a Wednesday if you haven’t checked your calendar. Then again, lately, Wednesday movie releases have just had an evening 3D showing only, with all-day screenings from the Thursday, which is a bit of a gyp.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had a trailer back in December, so why have we got another teaser? Because another trailer is released on Wednesday. Jeez, just release the damn trailer!

Or better still, just cancel the whole thing as it looks so tired, especially in resorting to bringing back the T-Rex again.

I thought it was madness when Universal released one 15-second teaser at the start of the first week of its initial promotion, but a lot of studios do that and it’s crazy. However, Universal must’ve lost their marbles as they released SIX OF THEM! WHY??!!

Jurassic World was a nonsense and I have yet to see ANYTHING in these which convince me otherwise, so please, Universal, just concentrate on a decent script for a change because we’ve seen dinosaurs onscreen countless times since 1993, and it’s an old idea.

But as for this trailer, well, apart from it looking disappointing that Jeff Goldblum‘s role looks small, the rest looks like everything we’ve seen before: It’s the same island, and they go back to it… the rescue nice dinosaurs before it explodes! Really?? Is that the best they could come up with??

So, Jurassic World was bad enough as a movie, but on the plus side, new director JA Bayona has gone with a normal widescreen ratio – 2.35:1. However, for the last movie, what the hell was 2.00:1 all about, Colin Trevorrow? Spielberg chose 1.85:1 for a reason – to allow the dinosaurs to make the most of the height.

2.00:1 is far from a conventional ratio. While Tomorrowland was presented a similar ratio, and I described that in detail there along with all of the associated problems when it comes to regular cinema projection, I expect the same would’ve happened for this one, too, and I’d love to know if anyone saw it in a non-IMAX screen and are reading this, please let me know. I won’t repeat what I’ve said there as it’s pretty much the same, but overall, I would’ve chosen a 1.85:1 ratio for these films for the reason the original director gave, since dinosaurs are tall, and especially in the home when you watch it on a 16:9 TV, the taller the image, versus the width, the better.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is co-written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, and is released in the UK on June 7th, 2018.

Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, BD Wong, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, Geraldine Chaplin, Rafe Spall
