Microsoft Hololens is a new device which is an incredible revolution in gaming and, amongst all the traditional expectations in a press conference such as trailers for new entries in the Tomb Raider, Gears of War and Fable series, this was something that was actually decidely different.
In fact, while I wasn’t quite sure what we’d get with this, since the camera just focuses on the man looking at the screen in frnt of him, as you watch this video, it’s when the table ‘opened up’ as that part of the demo began, that my jaw hit the floor!
A friend of mine wants to trial one as soon as possible, for use in his school, with a view to buying a number of them next year as they could be fantastic in education. In addition to the uses in the home and for gaming, he said the possible applications for the classroom are every bit as exciting, as they saw a demo of a beating heart which you could walk round and explode to see all the chambers etc.
Personally, I’m hoping Microsoft Hololens comes with a free title: Jennifer Aniston Interactive 😉
Seriously, though, check out the video below, courtesy of Kotaku, and click on the above image for the full-size version of the Microsoft Hololens unit, and there’s more info online on the Microsoft website.
