Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet – Talking Heads Series 1 Episode 11 – The DVDfever Review – Maxine Peake

Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet is the eleventh, and penultimate, of 12 episodes using the original Alan Bennett scripts but with new actors.

Miss Fozzard (Maxine Peake) has a great chiropodist, Mr Suddaby, but unfortunately, he’s closing down his business and moving to Scarborough.

As a result, he suggests two alternatives including a female chiropodist, but they agree on her being seen to by Mr Dunderdale, and this new guy tells her he loves her new shoes, suggesting he takes a picture of her feet in them. Erm…

Meanwhile, Miss Fozzard has issues with her brother, Bernard, who’s had a stroke, which led to her giving up work to look after him.

Maxine Peake is great in this, as a character who seems to have become a bit obsessed with Dunderdale, and while watching this, I figured she’s playing a character who’s in her 60s rather than her 40s, like Ms Peake. On looking up the details for the original 1998 broadcast, the character was played by Patricia Routledge originally, who was 69 at the time.

Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet: Talking Heads is on BBC1 on Wednesday July 8th at 7.35pm. The series is not yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD.

However, you can also the Original Talking Heads series on DVD.

The entire series is now available on the BBC iPlayer.
