Of this week’s highlights and lowlights…

33 Staind – Outside *The follow-up to “It’s Been a While” and another slow one with grindingguitars thrown in along the way. Excellent.

31 Charlatans – A Man Needs to be ToldThe track they performed recently on CD:UK when the lead singer thought hismicrophone stopped working when it was perfectly fine, and resumed thingslater on after the ad break. What a show-off.

29 New Order – 60 Miles an HourAn energetic and entertaining track, but far from their best.

28 Marti Pellow – I’ve Been Around the WorldDrippy Radio 2 afternoon slush.

24 Muse – Feeling Good *An excellent, loud retelling of the Nina Simone golden oldie.

9 DJ Otzi – Do Wah Diddy :O ===If you bought this you only have yourselves to blame.

3 Dannii Minogue – Who Do You Love Now?A fantastic, sizzling dance track and it’s time she was back in the chartsas most of her output towers above that of her elder sister, Kylie.

Just a shame all the tracks from her 90s album “Girl” didn’t sell so well.

1 S Club 7 – Have You Ever *1st Week at No.1*

Their Xmas single and one for charridee too. And it sucks.

Dominator’s Top 50 of 2000

48. Toploader – Achilles HeelMaking No.8 in May last year, this was their biggest hit of 2000 anddeservedly so as it built up slowly and let rip towards the chorus.

The same can not be said for the piece-of-toss cover version used in aSainsbury’s advert featuring mockney twat Jamie Oliver of Dancing in theMoonlight (No.19, March 2000; and re-released: No.11, Nov 2000).Meanwhile, Just Hold On only made No.20 in September 2000.
