Ozark Season 3 is coming! – Recommissioned by Netflix

Ozark Season 3
Ozark Season 3 is coming! Yes, there is no off-season!

Ozark Season 2 aired in full on August 31st, following season 1’s July 21st 2017 date, which puts this at an estimate October 10th 2019… Ooh! One year from today! Is that an omen?

Jason Bateman, who plays Marty Byrde and is one of the executive producers as well as having directed a number of episodes, revealed the good news in a tweet, today.

Season 2 saw the Byrdes (including Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner) going into the casino business, tasked with building one in the place where not a lot of business happens, but instead, a lot of bad stuff *does* go down. Hence, it was a plus that they didn’t just go down the route of laundering the $50m Del Rio set out for them, since after season 1, he wasn’t quite ‘in the altogether’.

Janet McTeer was superb, but those in charge certainly missed a trick by not giving more screen time to Kevin Johnson as Sam Dermody, since I thought they were setting that up nicely as he was fronted as running Lickety Splitz, and he would form a great pairing with new beau Jade (Melissa Saint-Amand), so hopefully things will be on the up for him next time. To all those in charge – make it happen!!!

Check out our Season 2 review here – where you can see why I think the creators aimed for a five-season plan – and get ready for Ozark Season 3 with Mr Bateman’s teaser tweet below…
