Yes, it’s time for some more free games. As it’s Thursday, it’s another free game day on the Epic Games Store, and from today until 4pm UK time next Thursday. First up is Pathway, a game which has been on Steam since April 2019, but makes its debut today on the Epic Games Store.
And there’s more: There’s a couple which have available for a short time already, and are available for rather longer than the usual 7 days. One is Sludge Life and Delores: A Thimbleweed Park mini-adventure. But how to claim all these games?
First up: what are these games about?
Pathway synopsis: From Chucklefish, explore the strange unknown with Pathway, a strategy adventure set in the 1930s great wilderness. Unravel long-forgotten mysteries of the occult, raid ancient tombs and outwit your foes in turn-based squad combat!
Sludge Life: From Devolver Digital, this is a first-person / open-world / vandalism-centric stroll through a polluted island full of cranky idiots and a vibe so thick you can taste it. Play as upcoming tagger GHOST set on staking their claim amongst the graffiti elite.
Delores: A Thimbleweed Park mini-adventure: From Terrible Toybox, Inc, Delores is back home and working as a photographer for the Nickel News. Thimbleweed Park hasn’t changed at all in the year she’s been away… or has it? Sample Ron Gilbert’s new adventure game engine in this free prototype.
So, how to claim these games for free?
First up: Pathway: Bring up the Epic Games Launcher (available from epicgames.com if you haven’t got it already), then go to Store, and you’ll see he game. Below the trailer and information about it, you’ll see the word ‘Get’ where the price is. Then, when the next screen comes up, click on ‘Place Order’… even though it’s free, then “I agree”. Along the way, it may also ask if you want to give your email address to the makers of the game for their mailing list, but this is a choice, rather than a requirement. This game expires on June 25th at 4pm UK time.
The same process applies for the other two games, but Sludge Life expires on May 28th 2021 at 4pm UK time, and Delores: A Thimbleweed Park mini-adventure doesn’t have an expiry date.
