My BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW of PENNUM PORATTUM!

Pennum Porattum Pennum Porattum… aka, Girl And The Fools Parade, is a new Malayalam comedy which only had one showing altogether at my local Odeon, and even those such films with multiple screenings, such as Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra was rammed, so I figured this would be no exception.

It was pretty empty, the reasons for which I realised, the longer this went on.

It’s a dog’s life for some, as the lead canine character seems to have it all, but then rather gets fed up of things, and like the birds, cats, mice and goats, humans seem to hate them for some reason, claiming, for example, that this mutt, Suttu, has rabies.

At the same time, for two individuals in their 20s, Kumar (Dinesh Pe Po) wants to marry Charu (Raina Radhakrishnan), but she’s stated all along that she’s not interested, even though that doesn’t deter him. Give it up, lad!

Pennum Porattum has way too many characters and no script… and then a cow goes on the loose!

Ultimately, the moral of this tale is that animals hate humans when they’re being arseholes. And the film is terrible, from all aspects. Shame, as it looked half-decent from the trailer.

It’s hardly Babe.

NOTE: There are no mid- nor post-credits scenes.

Pennum Porattum is in cinemas now, but isn’t yet available to pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD. However, once announced, it will appear on the New DVD Blu-ray 3D and 4K releases UK list.

In the meantime, you can buy the Original Soundtrack on Amazon Music.
