NYPD BLUE SEASON 2, praised with six Emmy Awards from a record-breaking 26nominations and more than 20 other awards and honours, contains the episodesfrom 1994-1995 chronicling the gritty true-to-life cases of 15th Precinct,devoted keepers of the peace in New York who don’t play by the usual rules.

Dennis Franz continues his Award-winning role as Detective Andy Sipowicz, atough-as-nails cop whose battle with alcoholism is a striking parallel to thecrime war he fights daily as a member of the police force. Returning only forthe first four episodes, Season 2 sees the shocking departure of Sipowicz’spartner Detective John Kelly, played by actor David Caruso. However, Sipowiczisn’t on his own for long as a new member to the team is introduced, DetectiveBobby Simone played by Jimmy Smits. Special appearances by Salma Hayek andGiovanni Ribisi also feature in this series.

A strong supporting cast including Sherry Stringfield and Amy Brenneman alsoreturn in NYPD BLUE SEASON 2, along with some original Season One cast memberswhose roles grow further this series. James McDaniel as Lt. Arthur Fancy -the tightly-wound, by-the-book precinct commander, Nicholas Turturro as JamesMartinez – the young, newly-promoted detective who looks to John Kelly forguidance and Sharon Lawrence the tough-but-fair Assistant District AttorneySylvia Costas all emerge as more complex characters in Season 2. A furthersignificant relationship develops between Detective Greg Medavoy (Gordon Clapp) -a ‘good detective’ who is going through some personal problems, and civilianemployee Donna Abandando (Gail O’Grady) – the voluptuous and caring precinctsecretary to whom there is more than meets the eye…
