Joining our long suffering British holiday-makers battling totake the edge off their boredom with Game Boy Advance this summer, are five ofthe UK’s top names in extreme sports. They fill in their down-time between boutsof extreme action with the handheld exhilaration available only on Game BoyAdvance.

Game Boy Advance will be sponsoring our five Xtreme heroes as they launch intobattle across Europe this summer and beyond. The Game Boy Advance Xtreme teamconsists of European and UK champion wakeboarder Dan Nott, half pipe SnowboarderMelanie Leando, UK champion kite surfer Kirsty Jones, downhill mountain bikerRob Warner and former European and UK champion surfer Russell Winter.   • Dan Nott
    – 17 year old Dan is the 2001 European and UK Wakeboarding Champion. 2002will see him competing in the UK Championships as well as the European tour whichwill take him to Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Holland and Greece. Not bad.

  • Melanie Leando
    -Since 1995, snowboarder Melanie has been crowned 7 times British halfpipe champion, been a World Cup competitor since 1996 and grabbed a 4th placefinish in the World Cup in January 1999.

  • Kirsty Jones
    – Cornwall born kite surfer Kirsty is the 2001 UK Champion and 2002 willsee her competing in a 5 stop UK tour. Not content with that, she’ll be makingthe first attempted crossing of the Irish Channel this September. In her sparetime she surfs, and wakeboards

  • Rob Warner
    – Rob is the Xtreme Team’s downhill mountain biker and already has one UKchampionship under his belt. He is currently ranked No.1 in the British CyclingFederation’s national rankings.

  • Russell Winter
    – European and UK Champion surfer Russell finished a very respectable 29thposition on the 2001 World Championship Tour, and has the accolade of being theonly European on the tour both then, and in 2002.

    Game Boy Advance will be following the progress of our Xtreme Team all summer(and into the winter given that snow for Melanie is a touch on the thin side atthe moment).
