Proud Mary is a forthcoming actioner starring Hidden Figures‘ Taraji P Henson as… well, Mary, an assassin who meets a young boy, and he sparks her maternal instinct. Aww… schucks.
However, this trailer just made it look like a modern-day Pam Grier movie with lots of added explosions! So it looks like a great, fun, popcorn movie.
In addition, and thankfully, there’s a complete absence of the screaming brat from the AA adverts who sings that same song!
Proud Mary is released in the UK on February 2nd, 2018, usually not a glowing time of the year for non-Oscar/BAFTA contenders.
