Queen of the Desert tells the tale of the life of Gertrude Bell (Nicole Kidman) – a traveller, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the 20th century.
Written and directed by Werner Herzog, with a cast including Damian Lewis, Robert Pattinson, Jenny Agutter, David Calder, plus Jay Abdo as Col. TE Lawrence, and James Franco replacing Jude Law after the project was delayed – and who found better things to do, this film looks as interesting as trying to find original sights to see in a desert.
Queen of the Desert has just been released in the US, but as of yet it hasn’t got a UK date. I’m not in a rush.
