  • Xbox Live-enabled: NoYager pits you as top fighter pilot Magnus Tidein a game that doesn’t seem to havemuch of a back-story other than painting you as some sort of renegade witha female air traffic co-ordinator who’s not pleased to see you’re back fromwherever you’re meant to have disappeared to, so we can assume you tried tohave your wicked way with her.

The authority-types have gruff voices with which to boss you about as youprepare for the training missions, and once you’ve completed these then it’son to the real thing. However, it does play too much like so many other gameswhere you have to ‘fly about and sort things out’ with dogfights and missionsstarting with shooting down a flying tanker that’s about to crash.

  • game picGraphically Yager is very impressive. It’s colourful and flawless, ifa little bit cartoony at times. The music is okay but did seem the same orvery similar to the creepy mission music as Hitman 2. The sound FX are allaround you and certainly worth a listen.

Control of your ship takes some getting used to, but you can get to gripswith it eventually. Overall, try a rental first if you’re thinking of gettingthis title. It’s okay for a while but it does start to get a bit samey afterthat. If you don’t mind that and enjoy mission-based games in the sameenvironment (and I’m like that withGTA: Vice City)then this one could be for you.
