Spaceman tells the Story of former MLB pitcher Bill ‘Spaceman’ Lee (portrayed by Josh Duhamel, above-right with the real Bill Lee, centre), following his release by the Montreal Expos.
And now, the official trailer has been released.
Personally, I don’t know a whole great deal about baseball, only having played a bit when I was at school, quite a few years ago, although over here in the UK we called it rounders, but even from this brief trailer, Duhamel shows there’s quite a character behind the man and so it’s definitely a film I want to see. And, interestingly, according to IMDB, the pitching scenes were flipped to transform right-hander Duhamel into the left-hander Bill “Spaceman” Lee.
Directed and written by Brett Rapkin, the cast also features W Earl Brown, Sterling K Brown, Blake Lindsley, Carlos Leal, Peter Mackenzie and Ernie Hudson.
Spaceman is out in the US on August 19th, but as of yet there’s no UK release date.
