If there was one thing I thought that didn’t need to be shown on TV over Christmas, it was a one-off revival of the Ronnie Barker/David Jason comedy which ran from 1976 to 1985 across four series, Open All Hours.
I ended up seeing most of the episode and it was pretty lame. However, if you put anything family-friendly on over Christmas when there’s a captive audience, you’re going to get a large number of people watching and the total ratings were 12.2m.
G-G-G-Granville will return in Still Open All Hours for six new episodes later this year, again written by Roy Clarke. You have been warned…
