The Lion King is the one about a lion who becomes a king… or something 😉
But, you’re asking, why am I posting a trailer up for a film which was released 21 years ago? That’s because Ryan Shukis has cleverly made a great new trailer which – for me – thankfully does away with the godawful Elton John/Tim Rice songs, and does exactly what it says on the tin with the newe ‘modern trailer’. Dare I say that I’ve never seen this film? This trailer actually makes me want to watch it!
A young lion prince is born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plots with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus making himself King. The King is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that it was his fault, and so flees the kingdom in shame. After years of exile he is persuaded to return home to overthrow the usurper and claim the kingdom as his own thus completing the “Circle of Life“.
The Lion King stars Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Matthew Broderick as the young and adult Simba, respectively, plus… James Earl Jones, Jim Cummings, Jeremy Irons, Moira Kelly, Niketa Calame, Ernie Sabella, Nathan Lane, Robert Guillaume, Rowan Atkinson, Madge Sinclair, Whoopi Goldberg and Cheech Marin.
Check out The Lion King‘s Modern Trailer below and the film is now available to buy on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD, and click on the poster for the full-size version:
