The Perfect Match wins the award for least perfect film of 2016 so far, with a syrupy sweet story about a player who’s about to find true love. Awww… shucks.
Charlie (Terrence J – Pardon? “J”? Yes, that’s his name. Well, actually, it’s Jenkins, but in professional terms, it’s just “J”) is a playboy who’s convinced that relationships are dead. His two best friends, Rick (Donald Faison) and Victor (Robert Christopher Riley), bet him that if he sticks to one woman for one month, he’s bound to get attached. Charlie denies this until he crosses paths with the beautiful and mysterious (it says here) Eva (Cassie Ventura, no relation to Ace). They may agree to a casual affair, but eventually Charlie is questioning whether he may actually want more.
Yes, you can see exactly how this turgid pile of dross will pan out.
Also wasting their time in this are Kali Hawk, Lauren London, Brandy Norwood and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal star and ex-wife of sexist moron Robin Thicke, Paula Patton.
The Perfect Match is released in the US on March 16th, but as of yet, there’s no UK date. Please don’t hurry on our account, Hollywood!
