Transformers Age of Extinction now has a second official trailer available for your delight and delictation, and is the fourth film in Michael Bay’s take on those little toys you used to be able to buy in shops in the 80s, and it’s the fourth film we don’t really need. Okay, I’ve only seen one of these – the first one – and it was incredibly tedious. Yes, I enjoy an action film but this was just relentlessly robots bashing robots.
All that said, the new trailer does look particularly entertaining, but then again this only lasts two-and-a-half minutes, and the film will last 60 times longer. Then again, very few films have IMAX scenes shot at the full 1.44:1 ratio these days, and very few might again given how film stock is diminishing, so partake of them while you can (since filming IMAX digitally has a ratio of around 1.89:1).
A mechanic (Mark Wahlberg) and his daughter (Nicola Peltz – The Last Airbender) make a discovery that brings down Autobots and Decepticons – and a paranoid government official – on them.
Also starring Stanley Tucci, Bingbing Li, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles and James Bachman, Transformers Age of Extinction is released in cinemas on July 10th and you can check out the trailer below:
