UK Top 100 Music chart summary: w/e July 13th 2013

Going straight in at No.1 in the UK Top 100 Music chart is John Newman with Love Me Again, and it gets better after the ridiculously tedious first minute, when it breaks into the chorus, but this guy has got one of the worst ‘singing’ voices I’ve ever heard. Oh well, at least the girl in the video is cute, although it has a stupid ending.

You can see the video here:

As such, Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX drops to No.3 with I Love It and it’s a tuneless mess that sounds like someone is farting right at the start. “I don’t care”, they chant. Neither do I. Bag of shite!

Meanwhile, there are new entries in the Top 40 for:

  • 6 Gabz – Lighters (The One)
  • 14 The Saturdays – Gentleman
  • 31 (86 RE) Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait
  • 35 (84 CH) Spark Productions – Wake Me Up
  • 40 Russ Chimes – Turn Me Out
Lower entries outside the Top 40 include:
  • 59 P!nk Feat. Lily Rose Cooper – True Love
  • 69 Lewis Watson – Calling
In the album charts, Mumford & Sons climb to No.1 again with Babel, knocking Tom Odell down to No.3 with Long Way Down. The new entries come from:
  • 6 Editors – The Weight Of Your Love
  • 32 The Duckworth Lewis Method – Sticky Wickets
  • 38 Deap Vally – Sistrionix
  • 56 Half Moon Run – Dark Eyes
  • 73 Hillsong – Glorious Ruins (Live)
  • 80 The Proclaimers – The Very Best Of 25 Years 1987 – 2012
The new release dates for singles and albums can be found HERE and they go up to August 2013.
