Uprising is a forthcoming film from Netflix, written by Park Chan-wook
Synopsis: Set during the Joseon era, Uprising follows the lives of two childhood friends turned adversaries, Cheon-yeong and Jong-ryeo. Their friendship deteriorates as societal class differences and war turn them into enemies. Cheon-yeong, a slave with remarkable martial prowess, becomes a feared militia member, while Jong-ryeo, a high-ranking military officer, is filled with rage towards him. The film explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and betrayal against the backdrop of war.
