Ziggy on PC / Steam – The DVDfever Review

Ziggy Ziggy is a new platformer game across 30 levels in 5 worlds (or biomes, as it says here), and numerous ways to die, as you run, wall-slide, dash, jump and double-jump!

It’s one that has that ‘just one more go’ factor, although to be specific – just over 1200 more goes, since I’m dying MANY times throughout the game!

But that’s what it’s all about, in what’s referred to as a “pixel-precision jumper”, which is almost correct, but you do have to figure out how to get from A to B, and so on, and it’s far from easy. I feel like I’m dying as many times as Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, in that awful episode where he spent about 2 billion years banging through a wall.

It also has a memorable soundtrack that I can’t get out of my head, like a rave track taken from one of the Pet Shop Boys’ Disco albums, or something in the middle of The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld.

In the end, I did get Ziggy to his final destination and, oddly, it was some of the levels in the middle which were a great deal more difficult than those towards the end!

My complete gameplay below will show how I achieved this, so check that out and buy this game! I played this through the Windows Store, but as I type, it’s on Steam for £1.69, so it’s an absolute must-buy!

Thanks to our friends at Afil Games for the review code for this game.

Ziggy is out now on PC/Steam, and the respective online stores for the Windows Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
