Black Mirror Series 5 was first teased in March 2018, below, but that turned out to be the brilliant Christmas/New Year interactive movie Bandersnatch.
So, Series 5 proper is still coming, and rather than the usual six episodes, there’s just three. Still, three is better than none.
The first two episodes are titles Striking Vipers and Smithereens, but I haven’t yet seen confirmation of the third one. Either way, the
Andrew Scott (Spectre), Miley Cyrus (Crisis in Six Scenes), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Baywatch 2017), Frances Sholto-Douglas (Troy: Fall Of A City) and Anthony Mackie, who was in the little-known Avengers: Endgame.
Looking for some more stars, then how about Topher Grace (Interstellar), Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys) and Pom Klementieff, aka Mantis in the aforementioned Marvel movie 🙂
Black Mirror Series 5 will be online from Wednesday June 5th.

March 6th 2018:
Black Mirror Series 5 has been confirmed by Netflix as being commissioned, with a simple tweet that says nothing more than “The future will be brighter than ever” and a teaser which states “Be Right Back”, the title of the first episode of Series 2, starring Domhnall Gleeson and Hayley Atwell.
No details on the episodes or release date have yet been confirmed – so a big kick in the pants for the NME who stuck the word ‘release date’ in their post about this, even though they can only confirm that it’s not been confirmed!
Let’s just hope that showrunner and chief writer Charlie Brooker doesn’t get cold feet about press access, since while this was available for series 3, it wasn’t for series 4, which is a royal pain when you can’t get the reviews online for the ‘go live’ date. Also, it was mostly a strong season, with my favourite being Crocodile, starring one of the UK’s best actresses, Andrea Riseborough.
The only one which completely sucked was the overlong series opener, USS Callister, starring Fargo‘s Jesse Plemons.
However, with more hits than misses, I welcome more episodes. Expect another six, but with a 14-month gap between series 3 and 4, that makes a late Feb 2019 slot for Black Mirror Series 5.
